This Week...

Digikam adds an image border tool. Kopete oscar_rewrite merged into HEAD. Plus many bugfixes and improvements in Quanta and Kopete.
REMINDER: last weekend before feature freeze ahead from Stephan Kulow
I would like to remind everyone where we are in the release schedule. Next wednesday we're heading the real freezes (so far only the feature _list_ was frozen):
  • No new features (this includes wishlist bug reports!) are allowed to be implemented
  • New features unfinished yet need to be disabled so they do not cause problems (it's ok if they are enabled again in 3.4.x - unless this would require new strings - so make sure your features are at least string complete)
  • Strings in GUI and documentation are frozen. The only exception to this is to add documentation and consistency for features very recently added. All further exceptions need to get acceptance by kde-i18n-doc@kde.org
After Wednesday, the cvs is also frozen again for non-urgent commits in preparation of KDE 3.4 Beta 2. I know that Wednesday we will see many last minute commits (btw: when I talk about Wednesday it ends around 23:59 CET) that need to be fixed the day after. This gives a little time window to test for show stoppers for beta2 - making a successful testing possible.
If there is any confusion, please check the KDE 3.4 Release Plan.
Thomas Nagy sent me a note regarding a new application: eqchem
I have added a new app to kdeplayground-edu/ : eqchem It finds solutions for chemical equations, and takes the electroneutrality into account. It is already rather stable and will be integrated to kalzium soon.

This information could be mentioned in the cvs digest to call for testers.

For testing, one needs:
The source code: kdeplayground/eqchem
The ocaml compiler: http://www.ocaml.org
The facile library: http://www.recherche.enac.fr/opti/facile/distrib/

After installing ocaml and the facile library, eqchem should compile and install without trouble (as usual : make -f Makefile.cvs; ./configure; make; make install)

Regards,
Thomas Nagy
